Annotations

In OpieReader, annotations are merely bookmarks with a note added which you can see in the annotation editor. To add an annotation you can either use the Marks/Annotate menu item, or you can send selected text to Annotations by selecting Annotation as a target in the File/Target/Annotation menu. When Annotation is the target, one touch mode sets the title of the annotation to be the line of text tapped on (not just the word) but two touch mode sets the title to be exactly the selected text. You can edit the title in the annotation editor before saving when you enter the annotation editor via either of these mechanisms.

When an existing annotation or bookmark is on-screen the annotation icon icon on the task bar is enabled. Tapping this icon brings up the Annotation Editor in view mode. In this mode changes to the title of the annotation (which is in the single line editor widget at the top) are ignored but changes to the Annotation Text (the multi-line editor widget filling most of the rest of the screen) are accepted. Tapping on the Okay button takes you to the next visible Annotation, or back to the document if there are no more, whereas tapping on Cancel loses any changes to the Annotation Text and takes you back to the document.
